It helps organisations identify risk, document due diligence and demonstrate continuous improvement through annual review. AFSSA is independent and is not a regulator, statutory requirement or government body.
How often should AFSSA assessments be completed?

AFSSA is designed as an annual assessment framework. The AFSSA Annual Certificate is valid for 12 months, with reassessment recommended yearly to maintain continuous evidence of flooring safety management and support continuous improvement.
What documentation is provided?

Clients receive an evidence-based assessment report with photographic findings, risk ratings and prioritised recommendations; the AFSSA Annual Certificate of Floor Safety Assurance on passing; the AFSSA Floor Safety Assurance Pack; and the AFSSA Concern & Repair Log for ongoing monitoring.
How long does an AFSSA assessment take?

Most single-site assessments are completed within a single working day, with minimal disruption to site operations. Larger or multi-site programmes are scoped during the enquiry stage to confirm timescales.
